How do I care for my hat?

Remember to take good care of your hat to ensure it lasts a long time. Some best practices include using a soft brush to remove dust and debris, picking up your hat by the brim and not the crown, and hanging your hat instead of laying it flat. We sell hat brushes, clips, and boxes in the store for convenient storage. You always want to store your hat crown down to help keep the shape.

How do hat sizes work?

Many straw hat sizes are designed to be one-size-fits-all, generally covering medium to large head sizes. Wool hats often feature an adjustable inner band to accommodate a range of head sizes. Brims offers five different sizes to accommodate all head sizes. See the chart below for a quick reference.

Can hats get wet?

Do what you can to keep moisture off of your hat. Wet hats often change shape slightly when they dry. For this reason, it is best to hang a hat to dry rather than lay it flat. Wool hats can get slightly wet and can easily be reshaped. Straw hats should not get wet.

What is your best-selling hat?

The Osprey is one of those hats that looks and feels great on everyone! It is made of 100% Australian wool and comes in a dozen different colors. It has a medium brim and is easily shaped to suit everyone's preference. Our top-of-the-line hat seller is the Eagle, which is 100%pure beaver fur and is the most amazing hat you will ever feel!

How do I fix misshapen hats?

There are several ways to help reshape hats, whether you have an industrial steamer, a handheld steamer, or by using a pot of boiling water at home. You can also hang the hat in the bathroom while you shower to steam out the wrinkles. We are also happy to help in the store if the hat is made of a material we are familiar with.
